A pop revolution. In many ways.
Most people know it from Carnival and Arlecchino’s mask but there is much more to this Italian theatre tradition. Developed in the 16th century, Commedia dell’Arte has influenced uncountable theatre masters (from K. S. Stanislavskij to Dario Fo) and it is considered the origin of modern theatre.
A Conference? A show? Both! A complete, accurate and funny overview on one of the most enduring theatre styles of all times.
Viva la Commedia!
Two Italian actors will bring you into Commedia dell’Arte’s world by telling stories, curiosities, historical facts and by playing scenes and dialogues with traditional Commedia dell’Arte’s masks.
The show will be in English and a bit of Italian.
The show is part of “Month of Commedia dell’Arte” organized by Penati/Zavarise Theatre with the Copenhagen’s Italian Institute of Culture’s support.
